Most dogs don’t struggle with ear drops because of the drops…
they struggle because of what the bottle has come to predict.

Zoe didn’t learn this by being held still or by just “getting used to it.”
She learned it the same way she learned her tricks.

Right at this moment, I suddenly got the worst cra

Right at this moment, I suddenly got the worst cramp in my leg I’ve ever had… the kind that makes you want to screech in pain and move around. But Zoe was right on the edge of doing something magical, and I wasn’t about to ruin her moment.

Training is all about clarity. Every tiny sound, every breath, every bit of body language shapes what our dogs understand and how confident they feel. They read us far better than we realise.

So even though I was in extreme pain, I stayed quiet. I stayed present. I let Zoe finish without confusing her with a random scream or sudden movement.

People underestimate how much our dogs take from us. One unexpected noise could have knocked her confidence completely.

Instead, she finished her task beautifully. And then I could finally move.

Clever clever girl ❤️

Yesterday we wrapped up our February challenge ins

Yesterday we wrapped up our February challenge inside the Trickdogs Training Circle and the blanket-removal ideas were incredible!

“Remove a blanket and…” is Zoe’s favourite trick so she was absolutely delighted to get to have a go today!

This time last week I was seriously worried about her and desperately trying to keep her hydrated enough to stay at home and not need admitted to the vets….Zoe says it’s all a distant memory and she’s back to 110% health!

Circle crew… you smashed this month. Excited to see how you get on with March’s challenges 👀
